BML pleased to announce strong financial year result

Brisbane Markets Limited (BML) presented its results for the year ended 30 June 2025 at its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 12 November 2025.

The company has reported an underlying net operating profit before tax of $17.71 million, an increase of 11% on the previous year.

The improved result is due to a combination of factors including improved interest rate risk management, insurance cost reductions and CPI-based rental revenue increases.

A significant number of tenant leases were renewed during the year and BML maintained 100% occupancy for industrial tenancies, and a total site occupancy of over 99% including commercial and retail tenancies.

BML maintained a 49% shareholding in Perth Markets Group Limited. The valuation of the properties held by the company at 30 June 2025 was $431.80 million.

“The strong performance this financial year is very pleasing,” said BML Chair, Anthony Kelly. “BML implemented proactive cost management strategies that had a direct and positive impact. Interest and insurance cost reductions allowed BML to further invest in site developments and process improvements.”

In the 2024/25 financial year, BML completed Building H, continued to raise critical site infrastructure above previous flood levels and progressed the project to raise the Curzon Street roadway and bridge. The company also implemented significant technology and process improvements to enhance site security and access.

“BML continues to focus on site developments and enhancements that directly benefit Tenant operations,” said Mr Kelly. “We remain committed to balancing strong financial performance with constructive, long-term stakeholder and Tenant relationships.”

There was no change to the Company Board of Directors during the year.

A final dividend for the year of 9.75 cents per ordinary share, was paid on Thursday, 23 October 2025. The total dividend paid in respect of the 2025 financial year was 18.5 cents per ordinary share, partially franked.
