Circular to Shareholders

Change of Share Registry

Dear Shareholder

Change of Share Registry

The Brisbane Markets Limited (BML) Board made a decision late last year to assess the services provided by share registry operators. The result of this process is that BML has selected Computershare Registry Services (Computershare) to provide registry services to BML into the future. This will bring to an end the long-standing relationship that BML has had with Link Market Services.

The transition of the share registry data will be completed tomorrow, 24 January 2024, and all shareholders will receive a communication from Computershare over the coming days advising of the changes and details in relation to your shareholding in BML. It is important that all shareholders read the correspondence from Computershare and follow any instructions to obtain access to manage your shareholding online at the Computershare Investor Portal. All information held by Link Market Service will be transferred to Computershare as part of the migration process.

Mandatory Direct Credit

In conjunction with the change of registry, and in line with our commitment to sustainable and efficient business practices, BML will pay future dividends exclusively by direct credit to your bank account. No cheque payments will be made to shareholders with a registered address in Australia and New Zealand. Dividends will be withheld if bank account details are not recorded.

The implementation of mandatory direct credit payments for dividends is consistent with market practice in Australia across many unlisted and listed companies. The benefits include:

  • the elimination of potential cheque fraud;
  • the ability for shareholders to access cleared funds more efficiently and securely, reducing the risk of cheques being stolen or lost; and
  • the reduction in administration costs associated with cancelling/reissuing and dispatching cheques.

We also encourage shareholders to record their email address and receive all dividend advices by email.

Action Required

Any shareholder who has received cheque payments in the past will be required to set up the bank account details for their holding with Computershare. Please follow the instructions that will be provided by Computershare in the coming days.

There is no action required if you have previously provided your bank account details to Link Market Services. The information will be migrated to Computershare. If you have any questions in relation to this change, please contact Murray Stewart or Joady Raph at BML on (07) 3915 4200.
