Dear Shareholder
We are pleased to advise a further landmark project at Brisbane Markets, with Favco (Qld) Pty Ltd (Favco) locking in their future growth strategies after committing to the construction of a new purpose-built facility at the South Gate West precinct.
The 7,145 m2 warehouse will accommodate Favco’s expanding operations and reflects the next stage of succession for the family-owned company.
Company directors Mark and Shane Clarke and Chris Deveney said the new facility would build upon the business their fathers, Rob Clarke and Mike Deveney, established some 27 years ago.
Excited by the operational facilities the new building will offer, they also complimented the work of BML and the project team, including architects, Arch and SBP Australia, in working with Favco on the detailed design and development process.
The state-of-the-art facility includes ripening rooms, multiple temperature-controlled cold rooms, a packing area and modern offices, and will support Favco to service customers across domestic and international markets and their ongoing Brisbane Markets Selling Floor operations.
BML’s Managing Director and CEO Andrew Young said the proposed new building reflects BML’s commitment to delivering industry-leading facilities which meet the needs of the fresh produce sector.
“The comprehensive process of design development ensured that the new facility will be purpose-built to meet the requirements of Favco and the ambitious plans which the company has as they look to the future,” he said.
Construction of the building is due to commence in May 2026 and is expected to be completed in June 2027.
