Focus on forkies as permits renewed

Forklifts and their operators are the muscles that keep Brisbane Markets moving, and March is the time for the site’s businesses to renew their Forklift Operator Permits (FOP).

There are currently over 1,000 Forklift Operator Permits issued at Brisbane Markets.

Now an automated process, Tenants simply need to review the FOP renewal email that was sent to each business’ accounts address on Monday, 12 February.

Click on the link in the email to view the list of all forklift operators employed by their business as recorded in BML’s access system.

For each forklift operator, businesses will be asked to confirm:

  1. if they are still a current employee; and
  2. if the High-Risk Work Licence details are current (and provide updated details if they aren’t).

Once reviewed, the FOP renewal fee will automatically calculate and be added to the relevant BML account on submission of the form.

All FOPs must be renewed by Friday, 29 March 2024. In mid-March each forklift operator will be sent a link to complete their forklift safety induction, which must be completed by Sunday, 31 March 2024.
