In this edition, Fresh Source features an in-depth article about the impact that supermarket business practices are having on the fresh produce industry. The ACCC has released its Supermarkets Inquiry Interim Report, highlighting some key findings and bringing to light supplier concerns about unfair trading practices of supermarkets (see page 6).
Brismark’s Markets Price Reports service has launched, providing much needed price transparency for growers, wholesalers and buyers. Unlike other reports that rely on anecdotal evidence, the Price Report app collates actual pricing data from real transactions at the Brisbane Markets, tracking low, high, average and most-sold prices for fresh produce (see page 8).
