The winter edition of Fresh Source Magazine is now available.

In this edition we pay tribute to those in the markets community who have been recognised for their dedication and service to the fresh produce industry, including Peter Tighe (page 7) and those who received an award for 40 years of service to Brisbane Markets (pages 26-30). We also look at some significant anniversaries, including Brismark’s 80th (page 19) and Murray Bros 100th (page 21).
Events made a comeback, albeit briefly, and we look at Hort Connections and its side events (pages 11-13), the Pineapple Field Days (pages 14-15), the 2021 Banana Congress (page 16) and the Brisbane Produce Market Gala Dinner (pages 24-25).
To celebrate the Olympics, we spoke to Alana Boyd (now Quade) about her time at the Rio De Janeiro Olympics and her work as Brisbane Produce Market’s Healthy Eating Ambassador (page 18).
We meet the new chair of Bundaberg Fruit & Vegetable Growers, Joe Lyons (page 36), and take a sneak peak at some interesting research aimed at prolonging the life of vegetables being exported by sea freight (page 40).
