When you’re a regular at the Saturday Fresh Market, it’s easy to forget the impact the venue and product selection has on newcomers.
From the close proximity to parking to the huge roof protecting marketgoers from the elements, the vast variety of products on offer to the buzzing vibe of the food court, the first visit to the Saturday Fresh Market is always a memorable one.
Share the love with your friends
If you don’t share the Saturday Fresh Market with your friends, can you really say they’re your besties?

Tina decided that she couldn’t keep the Saturday Fresh Market to herself any longer and convinced her friends Terri, Catherine and Jo to make the journey with her.
“Saturday Fresh Market makes an awesome first impression. Everything is cheap and there’s such a great variety,” the group said.
“We’ve bought so much already and we are just in the plant aisle! We need to go back to the car and unload before we keep shopping. Lucky the parking is so convenient!”

Mary is a regular attendee, and when her husband had to travel for work she invited her friend Maria to come stay and experience the Saturday Fresh Market for the first time.
“We are spending the weekend together so thought we’d make an outing of it,” they said.
“It’s such a huge market and being undercover is so good, it means you can come rain or shine. We don’t have anything like this on the northside so we are happy to travel.”
A venue like no other
Shawn and Amit are studying in St Lucia and were impressed with the price and quality of the food available – perfect for a student’s budget.

“This is our first visit to the Saturday Fresh Market, it’s such a big venue!” they said.
“There are a lot of different and unique varieties of fresh produce available. Make sure you try the other gourmet food stalls and explore the range of things you wouldn’t find anywhere else.”

For greenthumb Russell, being welcomed by the aisles full of plant stalls made a big impression.
“It’s the first time I’ve visited the Saturday Fresh Market and I am very impressed with the prices of the plants,” he said.
“The venue is very big and really good, I was very surprised! It’s better than the other markets I’ve been to.”
Giving Melbourne a run for its money
Many Melbournians have escaped the cold and made the move north in recent years, and new residents have been quick to point out how well the Saturday Fresh Market compares to markets on offer down south.

“It’s our first time here, we just moved to Yeronga from Melbourne,” Zena and Alanjohn said.
“The offering you have here is more than we’ve seen in Melbourne and there’s just so much room! It’s very clean and we just love the fairy lights.
“We love the live music, the different sections, the diversity of products and, most of all, we love the price! We will definitely be coming back regularly.”

James and Christina from Oxley agreed that the Saturday Fresh Market stacks up well in comparison.
“Christina has just moved up here from Melbourne and it’s the first time we’ve been to the Saturday Fresh Market,” James said.
“It’s a great market, it’s very lovely and tropical! It’s a different experience from Melbourne markets, there’s a really relaxed and friendly vibe here,” Christina said.
Don’t forget the family
New marketgoers are quickly realising that you don’t need to leave the family behind when you go shopping at the Saturday Fresh Market.

“This is our third visit to the Saturday Fresh Market, it’s a nicer way to do shopping and has a better vibe to the big supermarkets,” Courtney and Alister said.
“The market is well structured and really easy to navigate, and we love the prices and variety available.
“You can bring the whole family. It’s a lovely way to spend a morning, then your shopping is all done for the week.”
