Action is required by all Tenants to focus on safe work practices and situational awareness on Common Area roadways. This will include BML’s ongoing enforcement of the Forklift Rules, as contained in the Brisbane Markets Regulations and Traffic Management Plan, with a particular focus on forklift operators following standard road rules including:
- not cutting corners
- giving way to pedestrians
- obeying speed limits
- obeying traffic signs
- not driving within exclusion zones
- driving responsibly.
Tenants should note the Pedestrian Rules, which were issued last year, are also enforceable. The Pedestrian Rules are intended to encourage pedestrians to take more responsibility for their own safety and not put themselves in harm’s way through their own lack of attention and unsafe behaviours and to not take safety for granted.
