In conjunction with National Safe Work Month, Brisbane Markets is celebrating Safe Work Month right through October, promoting a safe working environment for all Markets’ users.

Forklift Operator of the year Grand Final!
The Brisbane Markets will host its 10th Forklift Operator of the Year event, with this year’s grand final to be held on Tuesday, 28 October 2025 as part of the Brisbane Markets Safe Work Month activities.
The Brisbane Markets has one of the highest concentration of forklift operators in Queensland, so promoting a positive safety culture is one of our main priorities.
Registrations have been received and the observation period is now underway. The results of the observation round are tallied and the top ten finalists then compete over a competency course which tests their skills under safety, time and procedural requirements.
