The Saturday Fresh Market is Brisbane’s largest food, plant and lifestyle market, catering to the Rocklea, Sherwood, Corinda, Oxley, Annerley, Moorooka, Fairfield, and Yeronga communities along with the greater Brisbane and Ipswich area for 20 years.
Affectionately called Rocklea Markets by the local community, the Saturday Fresh Market is held every week from 6am until 12 noon at 385 Sherwood Road in the very heart of the Brisbane Markets, Queensland’s central wholesale fruit and vegetable market.
More than a farmers market, the undercover, all weather venue of the Saturday Fresh Market is filled to the brim with fresh produce, bakery, meat and deli goods, alongside a wide variety of pots and plants, herbs and spices, honey and condiments, fashion and homewares and so much more.

The Saturday Fresh Market operates on private property and, unlike many other Markets, the facilities available to visitors include toilets, ATMs, entertainment and kids activities.
The Saturday Fresh Market also engages a cleaning team, on site security, traffic management staff members and Market Officers to ensure a high standard of operation. The entry fee helps to cover these costs.
Yes, the Markets are wheelchair accessible. Free PWD parking spaces are available on the Ground Level of the Multi-level Car Park and the majority of Premium Parking is accessible. Please speak to the gate attendant to be directed to these spaces on entry.
Amenities include: Men’s, Women’s Parent’s Room and PWD toilet facilities on the northern side of the site (furthest from Sherwood Road) and Men’s and Women’s toilets at the southern end of the site.

Yes, filming or photography at the Markets for commercial, student or promotional purposes requires a permit and all requests must be received in writing.

Yes, there are ATMs on site every week. The ATMs charge a service fee of $3.20 per transaction. ATMs are not operated by the Saturday Fresh Market. In the event of a malfunction with the ATMs, please ask a staff member to assist.
Dogs are not permitted at Brisbane Markets with the exception of guide dogs for the visually impaired or assistance dogs. Relevant certificates must be produced.
Speak to a Market staff member if you become separated from your children or require first aid. Lost or distressed children are usually taken to the Pedestrian Entry and Information Point, where our staff will care for them until they are reunited with their parents.
It is important not to panic and immediately report or bring lost children to the Pedestrian Entry and Information Point to commence the search process. Generally children or parents are found quickly, allowing everyone to enjoy the Market again.

To obtain a job with a Stallholder or shop owner, you will need to approach them yourself as the Saturday Fresh Market does not provide an employment service for any of its Stallholders.

It can be daunting starting a new Market stall from scratch. Ensure you are across any Brisbane City Council Market stall licensing requirements. We recommend coming to the Markets as a customer to see the lay of the land.

Yes, Public Liability Insurance for a minimum coverage amount of $10 million is required for all dine-in food and beverage vendors, high-risk stalls, and any Stallholder who stores equipment or product on site.
No, from time to time the layout of the Saturday Fresh Market may change. As a result of this a Stallholder is not committed to one stall location within the site and may be required to relocate.
No Stallholder at the Saturday Fresh Market has exclusivity over a particular product or service.
Stallholder entry times for the Market are as follows:
Bump in: 3.15 to 5am
Bump out: 12.15 to 2pm
Bump in and out times are strictly observed. If you arrive after 5.30am we are unable to let you into the Market to setup. When attending the Markets please ensure you leave the site by the required time and not before.
All persons entering the Market site must wear hi-visibility clothing or garments and enclosed shoes during the Bump in and Bump out times.
Stallholders who require more time to set up may apply for an Early Bird Access Card, contact us on (07) 3915 4277 for more information.
The Saturday Fresh Market offers a huge selection of fruit and vegetables, quality meats, poultry and seafood, fresh cut flowers, breads and baked goods, gourmet and deli lines, a huge range of indoor and outdoor plants, homewares and lifestyle products.
Stallholder parking is available. Parking a vehicle in the stall area is subject to Saturday Fresh Market approval and stall area allocation.

The Market is open rain, hail or shine. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or credits if you choose not to attend due to wet weather or personal reasons.
Bookings are valid for the date of the booking only. Non (or late) attendance means that any fees paid for the stall are forfeited.
We receive a high volume of Stallholder applications and unfortunately not every application to trade can be accommodated at our Market.
No, there will not be any permanent structures or setup. Stallholders will be required to set up and pack down each Market day.
Yes, electricity is available at the Market. Be sure to add this requirement to your application.
All electrical items must be tested and tagged by a licenced electrical contractor and only be used in accordance of the expiration date.
Yes, Stallholders can hire a 240L bin for the disposal of any general waste. A cardboard recycling service is also available.
Grey water disposal is available with two disposal points on the Market site and cooking oil disposal is available in the garden shed at the Building D Storeroom, see Saturday Fresh Market staff members for details.
The Saturday Fresh Market requires all Stallholders to use a gazebo or marquee. The Saturday Fresh Market does not hire gazebos out to Stallholders, so if you require one for your stall, please ensure you bring it to the Market.
No, the Saturday Fresh Market does not have trestle tables or gazebos available for hire.
Stallholders must remove all equipment from the site at the conclusion of the Market each week.
Stallholders may only affix signage in their immediate stall area, to their own equipment and structures. Signage must not be attached to the concrete columns, roadway, roof structure or placed in Market walkways or common areas.
Many food products require a Brisbane City Council Temporary Food Stall Licence. Visit BCC’s website for more information about Brisbane City Council requirements.
All licensable food businesses in Queensland must also have a Food Safety Supervisor. The certifications of the nominated supervisor must be presented at the time of applying.
When food is being prepared on Market premises, a food licence and food handling certificate must be provided.
If you do not have these certifications, these can be acquired from Brisbane City Council. If you do not have these documents upon making your application to us and are approved, you will be required to provide these documents before commencing trade.
Food stalls require flooring, a gazebo with weights and fire safety equipment. Additionally, all electrical items must be tested and tagged, and all temporary food stall guidelines and provisions must be complied with to maintain a stall at the Saturday Fresh Market.
A sample menu outlining the types of food being served, along with images that reflect your stall set-up including professional signage with a gazebo, must accompany the application.
Because Rocklea is a high risk suburb for fire ants, there are certain steps we must follow before a person can trade on site with plants. The Saturday Fresh Market has been approved by Biosecurity QLD to allow Stallholders to trade with high risk items (potted plants, mulch, soils, turf etc.) under a new permit.
With the new permit there are now new conditions which stallholders must comply with.

Legitimate brand-name products are welcome in the Market. The Saturday Fresh Market has a strict policy preventing sellers from offering counterfeit goods for sale. Officers from the Department of Commerce frequently visit the Market to ensure stalls are compliant. Non-compliant stalls can face legal repercussions and will be barred from trade.
The use of generators is not permitted due to noise and fume production.
The Saturday Fresh Market is a no-smoking site. Cigarettes and smoking products are not permitted within the Saturday Fresh Market boundary.
No, the Saturday Fresh Market only takes pre-booked stalls.

Meeting Room 1 is a boardroom-style meeting room with seating for up to 10 people. Audio visual equipment including teleconferencing, projector, whiteboard, tea/coffee and on-site catering available.
Meeting Room 2 and 3 are compact rooms with seating for up to four people. Whiteboard and on-site catering available.

Training Room 1: This 49 m2 training room has the capacity to seat up to 16 people.
