Brisbane Flower Market is extending its trading hours in the lead up to the biggest event on every florist’s calendar: Mother’s Day.

Surpassing Valentine’s Day for flower orders, Brisbane Flower Market florists are expecting high demand for Mother’s Day at the wholesale flower hub in Rocklea, from both wholesale customers and the general public, with their cold rooms full of flowers in anticipation.
Brisbane Flower Market spokesperson, Luke Leeson, said, a range of flowers including tulips, chrysanthemums, dahlias, carnations, roses, sunflowers and lisianthus continue to flow into the market ready for Mother’s Day.
“While there are plenty of flowers available for Mother’s Day, to keep bunches cost effective, we recommend going for florist’s choice seasonal mixes and preferred colour schemes rather than specific flowers,” he said.
The Brisbane Flower Market will be trading as usual from 5am to 3pm up until Friday, 12 May, and will be extending trading hours over the weekend, open from 6am to 3pm on Saturday, 13 May and 6am to 1pm on Sunday, 14 May to ensure no one misses out on flowers for Mum.
To see the Brisbane Flower Market and its cold rooms at their fullest, the media are invited to attend the site to take footage from Thursday, 11 May to Saturday, 13 May 2023.
