Stallholder Spotlight: Pretty Tied Up

Pretty Tied Up is a magical stall, filled with divine terrariums, beautiful succulents, mini garden landscapes, unique planters, macramé and more!

The brainchild of Michelle Fernohan, Pretty Tied Up was born five years ago when she was wanting to make a career change.

“The Saturday Fresh Market was the first place I set up a stall, and since then my stall has tripled in size,” she said.

“I’ve always had a great love for plants, so I guess it grew from there (pun intended!). I particularly enjoy how I can create beautiful little worlds through making the mini gardens.”

Michelle uses upcycling, the process of breathing new life into second-hand objects, to create her favourite products: the miniature gardens.

“I go op-shopping to look for unusual things, and I then repurpose them to make a really interesting and unique mini garden. I’m a huge fan of upcycling, and I love working that into my garden-making projects,” Michelle said.

The Saturday Fresh Market loves supporting the local community and small businesses, which is reflected in stalls like Pretty Tied Up.

“My business has a real local, community focus so that’s very important to me,” Michelle said.

“I source the pots from local suppliers, and the potted ferns I sell are propagated by a friend of mine. Everything else I sell is completely homemade.”
