If you’ve got a sweet tooth, then the selection at Sweet Confections is a must-try destination at the Saturday Fresh Market.
Sweet Confections is a new small, family owned and operated business specialising in artisan couverture chocolates. Every chocolate is lovingly decorated and crafted by hand, using only the highest quality ingredients.
With a range featuring milk, white, ruby and 55-70% dark couverture chocolate and fillings such as hazelnut praline, vanilla malt ganache and gingerbread truffles, you are sure to find a flavour to tempt your tastebuds.
“As a young child I was fascinated by the world of chocolate and confectionery,” Krystal said.
“All the different flavours, designs and infinite possibilities intrigued and excited me. I wanted to have my own version of Willy Wonkas Chocolate factory, but reality reminded me this dream would need to start small and grow slowly.”
Krystal has been in the confectionery industry for over 17 years, gaining knowledge and experience in a broad range of different confections, from hard candy and fudge to nougat and chocolate.
“I started from my home kitchen and, after outgrowing the space, we now have a commercial kitchen where we are able to line the benches and shelves with confections ready for the market,” Krystal said.
Krystal was already a regular at the Saturday Fresh market, so she knew it was the ideal place to launch her business.
“We have been coming to the Saturday Fresh Market as customers for a long time and I had often thought about becoming a stallholder,” Krystal said.
“Leading up to Christmas, I decided it was time to finally bite the bullet and jump right in: I’m glad we did! The market has so many wonderful stalls, with beautiful gifts and tasty treats it’s a great atmosphere and such a sweet little business community.”
On display at Sweet Confections are unique designs, from a 1.5kg Chocolate Christmas house, a 1kg retro Teddy bear wearing headphones or giant Easter bunny, these chocolate showpieces are created to captivate and excite all who visit the stall.
“The delight on the faces of our customers when they visit our stall and the sheer awe and amazement when they see so much chocolate, is my motivation,” Krystal said.
“Each week we are getting great feedback about our products, and we have already established a few regular customers, who come every week to see what’s new and grab their favourite treats.
“I love sharing my creations with our customers and making the world that little bit sweeter. After all, life’s pretty sweet when you find your favourite chocolate treat!”
