Have you really been to the Saturday Fresh Market if you haven’t tried Yianni’s Olives?
Yianni’s Olives started in 2004, and they were the first vendor to sell olives at the Saturday Fresh Market.

“I grew up in Greece surrounded by olive trees, so olives have always been a big part of my life. My mother showed me the special family recipe, and I’ve carried that through in my business – I know everything there is to know about olives,” Yianni said

“We import our olives directly from Greece, and then we marinate, mix and stuff the olives fresh every morning. We prepare a very wide range of olive products, and there’s something new on the menu every couple of months.”
What aspect of your work are you most passionate about?
For Yianni and his wife Thalia, it’s all about the customers.
“I love the relationships we’ve built with our regular customers over the years we’ve been at this market. We know them all well, we make jokes and have a laugh – they’re like family,” Yianni said.
“We also take a lot of pride in our products. We love to provide our customers with something they won’t find anywhere else, and that’s why they all come back!”
Yianni has a clear favourite when it comes to his products.
“The pitted Kalamata olives are my personal favourite – they’re a classic. Our olives marinated in red wine are also delicious and a particularly popular choice with our customers,” he said.
You can find Yianni’s Olives at the Saturday Fresh Market each week – make sure you stop by and say g’day!
